3.3 His last vow

In his best man's speech, Sherlock made a last vow: protect John & Mary. Charles Augustus Magnussen, a media mogul and a powerful man, understands very well the interest of this lever on Mycroft's brother.

Magnussen decides to blackmail an MP, and then provokes Sherlock. He chooses to provoke also Mary, who will show her true face.

My favourite moments

• John rescuing a neighbour because he is boring and needs action. As Mary tells it, he is a little bit sexy;
• Here comes at last Bill Wiggins!
• At last again, Molly slaps Sherlock in his face -so well deserved!
• Sherlock comes back to life because he cannot let John down. John is his main pressure point, but also his biggest force.
• A brotherly discussion at Christmas.
• The final Cliffhanger: yes, I missed him!

What do we learn?

• Sherlock is able to have a love affair (and with a woman, beside). Though no sentiments are involved...
• Mrs Hudson is Martha Louise Hudson, born Sissons, and used to be an "exotic dancer"
• Mum Holmes used to be a brilliant mathematician.
• A.G.R.A. are Mary's true initials.
• William Sherlock Scott Holmes is the complete name

The final episode of season 3 is good, no doubt. Sherlock as a child, Sherlock in family at Christmas, John learning things about Mary and about himself... We discover several new faces of the characters. I was just not totally convinced by the villain. Class, intriguing but, don't know, just too smooth, maybe ?
