The resident patient

Dr Percy Trevelyan is a brilliant physician. Specialist of catalepsy and nervous diseases, he cannot afford to open a practice and works as a researcher. A man named Blessington makes him a generous offer: he will pay for the practice and get in return three quarters of the doctor's earnings. At first, this arrangement turns out to be a good one for both men.

Mr Blessingon lives in the house. A fat man, he has a weak heart. He is not very sociable and both partners doesn't talk much, but they share the place in good understanding.

One day though, the news of a burglary place Mr Blessington in a state of extreme nervosity. After a while, he calms down and becomes as usual, sulky and quiet.
But the visit  of two Russian gentlemen to the practice makes him mad with fear again. He begs Mr Trevelyan to call upon Holmes's help. The detective comes, alongs with Watson. However, Blessington refuses to explain his fears. Holmes can't do anything but invite him to speak, and goes back to Baker Street. The next morning, Mr Blessington is found dead.

Doctor's practice - the resident patient Sherlock Holmes

A classical story of treason and revenge, of a man seduced by a genrous offer... I didn't find anything very peculiar in this adventure, which takes place in London, in a quiet thoroughfare.
Probably not an outstanding story.
